Asiana Airlines is one of South Korea’s two major airlines in the country. The airline was founded in 1988 as Seoul Airlines and is headquartered in Seoul. Asiana Airlines has its major hubs at Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport with focus cities at Gimhae International Airport and Jeju International Airport


Asiana Airlines has a fleet size of over 80 aircraft operating flights across 90 destinations including cargo flights. The airline serves passengers across four continents including cities in China, Japan and Southeast Asia. It also operates some flights in Europe and North America. A member of one of the largest airline alliances, Star Alliance, Asiana Airlines also has codeshare agreements with Air Canada, Copa Airlines, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines


Asiana Airlines currently does not operate flights from Malaysia. Some of the nearest airports it operates flights at are Changi International Airport in Singapore, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport, both in the Philippines.

Asiana Airlines offers its passengers various ways to check-in for their flights for their convenience. Other than the usual airport check-in where passengers can still proceed directly before their flights, Asiana Airlines provides online check-in through their official website or official mobile app. Simply visit the website or open their app and follow the steps outlined for checking-in. Once completed, a boarding pass will be issued which you can print or receive through email or SMS. In selected routes and destinations, you can go direct to the gate with your boarding pass without stopping at the airport check-in counter. Baggage Allowances

Asiana Airlines offers complimentary baggage allowance for all international flights. The maximum quantity and weight will vary depending on the destination or route. For flights to the Americas, Economy Class passengers are allowed up to 2 pieces of luggage not exceeding 23 kilogrammes or 50 pounds each. Business Class passengers are also allowed up to 2 pieces of luggage not exceeding 32 kilogrammes or 70 pounds each. First Class passengers are allowed up to 3 pieces of luggage not exceeding 32 kilogrammes or 70 pounds per piece. For all other flights, First Class and Business Class passengers are allowed the same quantity and weight, but for Economy Class passengers, only one piece of luggage is allowed not exceeding 23 kilogrammes or 50 pounds. On all flights, each piece of luggage must not exceed the total dimension size of 158 centimetres including wheels and handles. Excess baggage fees will apply.


Asiana Airlines offers five cabin classes – Economy Class, Economy Smartium, Business Class, Business Smartium Cass, First Class and First Suite Class. Availability of class service will depend on the aircraft and flight route. First Suite Class provides passengers with the utmost comfort and luxury in-flight. Each suite comes with two sliding doors for privacy and a fully flat bed. Each seat also comes equipped with a large monitor, personal mini bar and space for an extra seat should you want to enjoy a drink or snack together with your companion. First Class is also luxurious with seats that recline 180 degrees and are 83 inches wide for the greatest comfort. Each seat has a partition for semi-privacy and also comes with large monitors for your entertainment. Business Smartium and Business Class seats also offer comfortable wide seats which recline to near flat beds for the one of the best in-flight experience. Business Smartium Class is configured in a staggered seat layout to provide some privacy between passengers.

Meals on Board

Asiana Airlines provides complimentary food and beverages in-flight. Premium class passengers will have their choice of hot meals and a variety of beverages during the flight. In-flight entertainment is also provided during the flight. The airline’s audio/video on demand system comes fully loaded with the latest movies, popular TV programs as well as an extensive music library and games. Availability of programs will depend on the flight destination and route.
