Why fly with Indonesia AirAsia

Ways to Check-in

Indonesia AirAsia offers passengers several ways to check-in for flights. The airline recommends that passengers make use of their web or mobile check-in feature to avoid the queues and waiting time at the airport. After checking in, passengers will receive boarding passes through email or as a 2D barcode. Online check-in will be available from 14 days up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Passengers can still proceed directly to the airport to check-in for flights. Just proceed to the airport check-in counters or use any of the kiosk check-in facilities available at selected airports. Kiosk check-in is available 14 days up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Baggage Allowances

Indonesia AirAsia, as a low-cost carrier, does not offer complimentary baggage allowance. However, passengers can choose a fare class with baggage bundled in, pre-book additional baggage allowance online or purchase at the airport check-in counters. Keep in mind that pre-purchasing online will offer discounted rates while standard rates apply when purchasing at the airport.

For domestic flights, passengers can purchase additional baggage from 15 to 40 kilogrammes and for international flights from 20 to 40 kilogrammes in increments of 5 kilogrammes. For flights to and from the United States, passengers can purchase up to two pieces of luggage at 20 kilogrammes each. Note that the total baggage allowance per person should not exceed 40 kilogrammes including allowance included in the fare type.

Indonesia AirAsia offers several seating options depending on the booked travel class and assigned aircraft. Premium Flatbed seats are available mostly on long-haul flights where seats recline to a fully flat bed and have adjustable head and foot rest. Passengers can also choose to book a Hot Seat which is located at exit rows or front of the cabin. These seats offer more space as well as access to deplane first. Should you want peace and quiet during the flight, Indonesia AirAsia also offers a Quiet Zone which is a dedicated section of the cabin guaranteeing minimal disturbance.

These seat options will be available for an additional fee during the check-in process or bundled in with your booked fare type. If you choose not to purchase a premium or standard seat, a seat will be automatically allocated to you during check-in.

In-flight Services

Indonesia AirAsia does not offer complimentary onboard dining. However, this can be purchased as a bundle with the fare, pre-purchased online or purchased during the flight. It is recommended to pre-book meals online, so you will be assured to get the meal you want. Purchasing meals onboard will be subject to availability. Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase onboard.

Indonesia AirAsia currently does not offer in-flight audio and video entertainment. The airline offers an in-flight magazine to keep you occupied and entertained during the flight.
