Sibu Airport is one of the busiest airports in the state of Sarawak. It consists of just one terminal and serves domestic flights to destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru.
The airport is a small one, but it still houses some facilities. For travellers who have some time to spare before boarding their planes, they may visit the viewing gallery to watch planes land and take off. Regardless of age, most travellers enjoy the sight of the majestic planes rising into the sky. The viewing gallery is also a good spot for photo-taking.
Business travellers may visit the business lounge, where there are amenities such as a quiet and conducive working space, plush seats for rest and relaxation, televisions with news and entertainment channels, newspapers and magazines for travellers' reading pleasure and so on.
Visitors who wish to fill their tummies before or after their flights may stop by one of the food chains available within the airport, selling different kinds of cuisine. Passengers may sit down for a proper meal or pick up something to eat on the go if they are in a rush. There are also shops catering to travellers looking to buy some last-minute items.
Disabled and handicapped travellers will be able to rent wheelchairs for use within the airport from their respective airlines. They should notify their airlines before their arrival. There are handicapped toilets with wide cubicles and railings to assist in their movement as well. Airport staff will also be glad to lend a helping hand if necessary.
