Sandakan Airport is located in Sandakan, a town in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. The airport handles domestic flights to Kuala Lumpur, Kudat, Tawau and Kota Kinabalu. Serving Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia and Firefly, it consists of just one terminal.
Being a small airport, Sandakan Airport houses a limited range of facilities. Travellers are advised to have their meals prior to arriving at the airport as there are minimal food options available. However, they may purchase snacks and drinks from the snack station.
Handicapped travellers are advised to notify their respective airlines prior to their arrival, so that arrangements can be made for them. Airport and airline staff will be on standby to provide assistance. Airlines may also provide wheelchairs for use within the airport grounds.
