 Temuco Airport

When getting into Temuco, Chile, the international airport that serves the area is Temuco Airport, also known as Maquehue Airport. Among the airlines that fly into Temuco via the airport include LAN Airlines, via its flights to and from Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, also known as Santiago International Airport or Pudahuel Airport, the country’s largest aviation facility to date. Another airline that flies to Temuco is Sky Airline, flying in and out of Concepción via Carriel Sur International Airport, Puerto Montt via El Tepual International Airport, and Santiago, or Santiago de Chile via Santiago International Airport.

Maquehue Airport may not handle a considerable number of scheduled flights to and from Temuco. Ideally, flying into the city would be made easier via the larger airports in Chile, such as Santiago International Airport, which handles a substantial amount of flights coming in and out of major destinations such as Auckland, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo, and Sydney, to name a few.

As a small commercial centre within the south of Chile, in the Araucanía Region, Temuco serves as easy access to the Araucanía area via its Andean valley and coast that work as the centre of operations for agricultural, livestock, and forestry. The city also serves as a communications and trade centre, to several of the small towns within Araucanía. Although there are cities that offer much more than what Temuco can offer, the city has its own history, culture, and charm that work its way into the hearts of tourists and locals alike. For a full experience of Temuco, various tours and activities include visiting Mount Ñielol and Green Nook for a taste of the island life; touring the urbanized areas of Aníbal Pinto square; or walking around to get a feel of the traditional Temuco via its city market, with shopping and dining for all ages.
