There’s plenty to enjoy here without breaking the bank, whether that’s opting for public transport or visiting affordable hawker centres for meals. And many top attractions, such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay, can be enjoyed at little to no cost.
Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world, especially in touristy areas like the Downtown Core. Though you’re unlikely to encounter any crime here, it’s still good practice to exercise common sense precautions like sticking to well-lit streets while walking alone at night.
Many of the tourist hotspots lie in the Downtown Core, so it’s easy to get a good overview of the place in under a week. That said, there are always new restaurants, bars and hotels popping up, making it worth returning to again and again.
