Kota Kinabalu International Airport is a public commercial airport located in the state capital city of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. The airport serves the Greater Kota Kinabalu area including the West Coast and Interior divisions of Sabah. The Kota Kinabalu airport is also a hub for the full-service airline, Malaysia Airlines; regional airlines, MASWings and low-cost airline, AirAsia.

The Kota Kinabalu International Airport has two terminal buildings. Terminal 1 is the main terminal building of the airport and serves both international and domestic flights. Meanwhile, Terminal 2 was the airport’s original terminal building now serving cargo airlines and a few private charter flights.

Kota Kinabalu International Airport is located approximately 7 kilometres southwest of the city centre of Kota Kinabalu. A taxi ride from the city centre to the airport would take about 6 minutes of travel time and cost around MYR12-16.
