Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the main international airport in Malaysia and considered to be one of Southeast Asia’s major airports. The airport is located in Selangor’s Sepang district which is south of the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. The Kuala Lumpur International Airport, or simply called KLIA, is Malaysia’s largest and busiest airport welcoming over 52 million passengers annually since 2016.
The Kuala Lumpur International Airport has two main terminals – Main Terminal and KLIA2 or the new Terminal 2. The Main Terminal building operates international and domestic flights operated by full-service scheduled airlines such as Malaysia Airlines and KLM. Meanwhile, KLIA2 or Terminal 2 replaced the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal or LCCT. KLIA2 now operates flights by low-cost airline carriers such as AirAsia and Cebu Pacific Air.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport is located approximately 60 kilometres from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. A taxi ride from the city centre to the airport would take about 48 minutes of travel time and cost around MYR95-120. Cheaper alternatives to get to the airport would be to take the train or a bus. Take the KLIA Express and travel 28 minutes from KL Sentral station to KLIA T1. The train ride would cost only around MYR55. The cheapest option would be to take the bus from KL Sentral to KLIA for MYR10 with a travel time of about an hour.

There are also some other hotels and accommodation situated at the Gateway@KLIA2 mall which is connected to the main KLIA2 terminal building.
