Heathrow Airport often referred to as London Heathrow, is a major international airport serving the city of London in the United Kingdom. The airport welcomes over 75 million passengers annually since 2016 making it Europe’s busiest airport based on passenger traffic. Heathrow Airport is also the world’s seventh busiest airport by passenger traffic.
The London Heathrow Airport has four passenger terminal buildings:
- Terminal 2 serves Star Alliance member airlines as well as Aer Lingus, Eurowings, Flybe and Icelandair.
- Terminal 3 serves Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Middle East Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and most of the Oneworld member airlines except for Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Iberia and most British Airways destinations. Terminal 3 also serves a few airlines, not under any airline alliance.
- Terminal 4 serves most non-aligned airlines as well as Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and most of the SkyTeam member airlines except for Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia and Middle East Airlines which are at Terminal 3.
- Terminal 5 serves Iberia, Iberia Express and most destinations by British Airways not at Terminal 3.
The Heathrow Airport is located approximately 27 kilometres from the city centre of London. A taxi ride from the city centre to the airport would take about 26 minutes of travel time and cost around GBP65-78 (MYR360-430). There are several cheaper alternatives to get to the London Heathrow Airport from the city centre:
- Take an airport shuttle to Heathrow for around GBP42-58 (MYR230-320) with a travel time of about 26 minutes
- Take the Heathrow Express from London Paddington station to Heathrow for around GBP20-29 (MYR110-160) for about 14 minutes of travel time
