Locally known as the Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat in Spanish or simply Barcelona Airport, the Barcelona-El Prat Airport is the main airport of Catalonia serving the city of Barcelona. This international airport is the second busiest and largest airport in Spain after the Madrid-Barajas Airport.

The Barcelona-El Prat Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 operates flights to Schengen and non-Schengen members of Europe while Terminal 2 mainly serves flights operated by low-cost airlines as well as regional airlines.

The Barcelona-El Prat Airport is located approximately 15 kilometres from the city centre of Barcelona. A taxi from the airport to the city centre would cost around EUR24-29 (MYR120-150) and take about 14 minutes of travel time.

A cheaper alternative would be to take the Barcelona Cercanías (RENFE) train from Terminal 2 for EUR2 (MYR8) which will get you to the Barcelona – Passeig de Gràcia station with only a slightly longer travel time of 16 minutes. An Aerobus, Barcelona's local bus service, is also available for EUR1-14 (MYR9-75) with a travel time of 21-32 minutes depending on the bus operator.
