Lisbon Airport, officially known as Humberto Delgado Airport or colloquially as Portela Airport, is an international airport serving the capital city of Lisbon in Portugal. The airport takes its name from the nearby parish of Portela located in the Loures Municipality, previously known as Portela de Sacavém.
The Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon is a major hub in Europe and the main international gateway to Portugal. The Lisbon Airport welcomes over 22 million passengers annually serving more than 120 destinations operated by over 45 airlines.
Lisbon Airport has two passenger terminal buildings. Terminal 1 is the main terminal with a larger airside and landside area featuring numerous shops and facilities. It operates both domestic and international flights. Meanwhile, Terminal 2 is the smaller but newer terminal. Terminal 2 serves mostly low-cost airline carriers and can only be reached from Terminal 1 by a free shuttle service. Both terminals offer essential services and facilities. Duty-free shopping and banking facilities such as ATMs and currency exchange are available at both terminals. Dining options are also available with Terminal 1 offering a wider range. Free WiFi is provided in both terminals for 30 minutes. There are no hotels located on airport grounds. However, thanks to the proximity to the city centre, there are several nearby Lisbon hotels to choose from.
