Chennai International Airport is an international airport located in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. The airport serves the Chennai Metropolitan Area. The Chennai airport is considered to be India’s fourth busiest airport based on passenger traffic after the airports in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai.
The Chennai International Terminal has two terminal buildings. Terminal 1, also known as Kamaraj Terminal, serves the domestic flights for the area. It connects Chennai to 20 domestic destinations in India. It is important to note that while it is often referred to as the domestic terminal, the international arrivals area is located at this terminal. The second and newer terminal is called the International Terminal and also known as the Anna Terminal. This terminal connects Chennai to over 20 destinations worldwide.

Travelling to and from Chennai International Airport to Chennai's city centre
The Chennai International Airport is located approximately 20 kilometres from the city centre of Chennai. A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre can take about 19 minutes of travel time and cost around INR 360-440 (MYR 24-30).
There are cheaper alternatives to get you from the airport to the city centre. Local buses are available from the airport, specifically the 1B and 18A bus lines. These can be found just outside the terminal building or the nearest bus stand along GST road. Taking a rickshaw can also be a cheap and fast option. Similar to local buses, this can be found anywhere outside the terminal building.
