Poitou-Charentes is an administrative region situated in south-western France. It is comprised of four departments: Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne, and the historical provinces of Angoumois, Aunis, Saintonge, and Poitou. The capital city is Poitiers, a city on the Clain River of the Vienne department. Other notable cities are Angoulême, Cognac, La Rochelle, Niort, and Rochefort. La Vallée des Singes - The Valley of the Monkeys is a unique primate park in Romagne. It houses primates such as chimpanzees, gorillas, lemurs, and dwarf monkeys.
