Yangon International Airport (RGN) information

Yangon International Airport is a public international airport located in Mingaladon, 15 kilometres north of Yangon, Myanmar. The airport is the busiest and main international airport in Myanmar. Also known as Mingaladon Airport, it serves all of the ten local Burmese airline carriers and around 30 international airlines.

The Yangon International airport has three passenger terminals. The newer Terminal 1 and terminal, Terminal 2 operates all international flights while Terminal 3 handles all domestic flights.

As a major international airport in the country, the Yangon International Airport has the essential services and facilities. There are three airport lounges available at the airport for passengers needing additional comfort. Duty-free shopping and retail stores are also found in all terminals as well dining options both on the airside and landside sections of the airport. Travelling to and from Yangon International Airport to Yangon’s city centre

Yangon International Airport is located approximately 13 kilometres from the city centre of Yangon. A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre can take about 12 minutes of travel time and cost around MMK16,000-20,000 (MYR50-60).

A cheaper alternative to get to the city centre from the airport would be to take a train from the Paywetseikkon Railroad Station to the Tamwe Railroad Station for MMK1,200-3,600 (MYR4-11). The train departs the station every hour and can take about 38 minutes of travel time.
