King Khalid International Airport is a public international airport located in the capital city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh airport is a hub for Saudia and Flynas and one of the largest airports in the world based on land area. Interestingly, it was once alternative landing site for the Space Shuttle from NASA.

Five passenger terminals were built for the King Khalid International Airport. However, only three out of the five are currently in use. Terminals 1 and 2 operate international flights. Terminal 2 is used by SkyTeam alliance members while other airlines operating international flights use Terminal 1. Terminal 5 operates all domestic flights. Terminal 3 and 4 are currently not in use and are closed for renovations and development.

Travelling to and from King Khalid International Airport to Riyadh’s city centre

The King Khalid International Airport is located approximately 37 kilometres from the city centre of Riyadh. A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre will take about 30 minutes of travel time for a cost of around SAR160-200 (MYR180-220).
