Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Christchurch! So many wonderful outdoor activities like kayaking on the Avon River, spending time in the park, and heading to the outskirts for some beautiful hikes. The residents have gone through some trying times lately like the earthquake of 2011, and more recently the attack on the mosque, but in spite of all that, they have kept up their indomitable spirit and the love of their town keeps them steadfast.

Christchurch is still in somewhat rebuilding mode, from past earthquake. Pleasant to walk around the center, saw Cathedral Square, Canterbury museum and central shopping area.

A challenging place to live if you are used to having a city to explore and weekend options, but lots of outdoorsy stuff nearby makes it popular. The city is slowly building itself back up and it will be interesting to see how it looks in years to come. To be fair to Christchurch I have spent most of my time here working brutal hours on the rebuild so my ability to explore wholeheartedly has been rather compromised!

A lovely city with nice botanical gardens. The downtown is very walkable. I liked it a lot!
