Cheap flights from Togo

The Togolese Republic is a country in West Africa, bounded by Burkina Faso to the north, Benin to the east, and Ghana to the west. To the south, it has a 56km coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the smallest countries in Africa, as it occupies an area of approximately 57,000 km2 and has a population of approximately 6.7 million. Togo is considered to be one of the nicest places in Western Africa, with sandy beaches, friendly people, generally good roads, and varied landscapes. However, tourists are advised to stay away from the beaches. There is little crime in most of the country, except in public beaches where foreigners are reportedly mugged regardless of the time of day, and the capital city Lomé.

Where to go

Koutammouko - Koutammouko, the Land of the Batammariba, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in northern Togo. It is a cultural landscape that features traditional mud tower-houses, known as the national symbol of the country. The site was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

Lomé Grand Market - Lomé's large market, or the Lomé Grand Market, is located near the Lomé Cathedral. It is comprised of three sections, called Atipoji, Asigame, and Assivito. Aside from being a place to find random items to shop for, the market is also where visitors can be entertained by live African music by local performers.

Togo National Museum - The national museum of Togo is located in the capital, Lomé. The museum was founded in 1975, and features ethnographical, cultural, and artistic exhibits.

Lake Togo - Togo has several lakes, but the largest is Lake Togo. It has shallow waters and is a popular place for water sports.

It's easy and fast to get from Lomé to many other cities in Africa, including Ouagadougou, Brazzaville, Libreville, Kinshasa, and Douala. The capital of Cameroon, Douala, is known for its abundance in African wildlife, as seen in the Lobeke National Park. Another attraction is the highest point in Western Africa, Mount Cameroon, and the most indigenous tribe in the world, the Baka Pygmies.
