Our Malta holiday

We had a lovely stay in this hotel, our room was clean, spacious, old fashioned but comfortable. Food was nice with plenty of choice, would have liked Porridge or Muesli for breakfast but not a big deal. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Inside pool and jacuzzi was lovely. Barbara, the tour advisor was so informative and helpful. Sheryl of Arum Spa was so good, I had 2 Massages, reasonably priced at €65 each. All restaurant staff were nice but Bibek stands out for being very friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved Malta and all the trips we took.
However, our only fault was the view from our balcony and the noise from the builders and machinery on the building site opposite hotel.

Do not take valuables to the rooftop!!

Stayed here in March/April and again in July 2026, both stays were half board.
I’m going to start my review on a positive note.
The hotel is nice, clean, friendly staff and the rooms are a good size.
The breakfast buffet has an amazing choice of food.
The indoor pool in March was warm and was welcomed as the weather was awful.
The roof top pool in July was amazing and the view is stunning.
Hotel location is a 10min walk from the beach, the bus station, with lots of choice of places to eat or drink.
Unfortunately now the negative.
On the rooftop where had sat for 5 days consecutively, we placed our towels on the loungers, glasses, vapes on the table and my bag under the table. The loungers were pushed tight to the table to keep room for other people, if needed.
We took a quick (5-7min) dip in the pool.
Came back to find, our vapes and bag were stolen. There was a T-shirt on the ground at my lounger which didn’t not belong to us. We assume it was from the person who took my bag.
On saying that, we didn’t see anyone around where we were hoping to sunbathe.
My hubby looked around while I notified the bar staff.
There was a couple who we seen in the 5days up on the rooftop, I asked if they saw anyone, they seen a young couple lingering about but didn’t see my bag.
They said they looked suspicious!
Kieran informed the manager and he came up to see where we had our belongings and clothes.
We were told to go to the police station, we did, we were there for an hour.
T-shirt was returned back to the hotel reception, don’t ask as we have no idea!
The Maltese police officer was not very helpful.
For insurance purposes, on every level at both sets of lifts, I took photos of the cctv cameras, reception area, roof top pool and out side of reception.
We saw the manager the next day and asked if the police had been for the cctv they hadn’t been. He told me the insurance would cover it.
Our taxi was booked for 3am, on departure from the hotel, I asked the nightshirt receptionist if the police had been, they had.
I checked my email and was told, the cctv didn’t cover that part of the rooftop and that the “case” was closed!
However after returning home, enquiring about a claim, bags unattended are not covered.
I feel very disappointed that
1 - the hotel didn’t call the police
2 - manager did not check the cctv straight away, as someone with a logo T-shirt enters the building and leaves topless with bag, would be easily spotted and you get the criminal quicker and the identity to passed onto the police.
3 - they didn’t any point ask about my welfare.
I feel as guests, the hotel need to put cctv to that section of the rooftop and also have signs stating not to leave valuable personal belongings unattended.
My bag was my hand luggage, which I had to replace, along with the contents and I am now £700 out of pocket.
Thankfully, what they stole was marked as stolen, very secure access, so it is worth nothing to them. The vapes are replaceable, the vape oil, the suntan lotion, which isn’t cheap to buy in Malta. There was other stuff in the bag which I can’t remember, but it is gone.
I loved Malta but I will not be returning for a number of years, as I trust no-one.
Very disappointed is an understatement.

Avoid used as an entertainment venue not a hotel venue!!!

Arrived to this hotel completely unprofessional staff no offer of early check in.
Very packed no entertainment facilities from day 1 it was obvious this hotel is used for daily private parties in most parts of the hotel , including one of the pools that is not available to hotel guests! Stayed away each day one tiny overcrowded small pool on the 5th floor, a gym that you have to pay for.
Booked for 10 nights with 2 children and grandad 2 rooms. Every day and night loud birthday parties, christenings, baby showers. Rude management when finally lost my patience on my last night trying to get my children to sleep. Even though i had complained previously on most nights To be ignored by management this is not a hotel this is a venue used to hire rooms out, where by guests needs are over looked!!!
The only positive i can say about this hotel is that the breakfast was nice but never book here if you are a family nothing for children and constant noise from private parties booked here!!! Disgusting shame on this hotel and i will be taking this up my travel company!!! Avoid at all costs all people i spoke to said they would never return here!!!
I have multiple videos i plan to send to my tour operator to share on this platform

Soreda, a place we always return to

We have been coming as a family to The Soreda for years and whilst the rooms are not by any means palatial, they are always spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable. The Restaurant was refurbished a couple of years ago and is now a really nice space. The food choice is always excellent and there is always something the kids will like. We even have one child in our party with allergies/food intolerances and nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they make her a separate plate of food each day. Lastly, the staff are what make it. They have always been super friendly and helpful to us, which always makes such a difference to our holiday experience.

Not great

Find a sun bed by the pool, go to get a drink, hey presto, someone nicks it!! this has happened EVERY time I’ve sat near the pool. No where near enough space by the pool for the amount of folks staying there!
