Amazing place among the cafes

Amazing place with a beautiful view of the cafetals. We made a campfire and then walked through the village. An unforgettable experience. Thank you very much to Dr. Hector Peláez for the recommendation, I hope to be back soon. Very comfortable palafitos and the sound of birds waking you up in the morning with a nice cup of coffee is the best.

Incredible place!

Reserva Azul is the highlight of our trip around Mexico (when we arrived there we were already traveling for a month!). The place has a lot of character, owners are very interesting people, everything is truly authentic. Nice cabanas with great mountain views and chimneys to enjoy the evenings :) 11 hectares of nature around, amazing trails. very very attentive stuff!!! muchisimas gracias por todo y esperamos de regresar pronto. Amazing experience in the cloudy forest, Sierra Norte de Puebla in Cuetzalan!

As part of the Water Management Course, I took my students to Reserva Azul, a biocultural project led by Elsa and Luis. Countless experiences and rich knowledge on how indigenous and researchers have partenered to implement a sustainable water management project where collective beliefs and action have triggered community change. You can stay in a very comfortable and cosy 'cabaña' located inside the cloudy forest with a huge variety of gigant arboreous ferns and other endemic species. A Lifetime experience not to be missed!

How good is it to wake up, step outside and find a thermos with fresh, organic coffee? It is simple perfection. The food is also really good and the surroundings are simply ashtonishing and breathtaking. From Reserva Azul there are countless possibilities for activities.

Remarkable!

Reserva Azul is the best example of how ecological conservation, organic coffee production and eco-tourism can be part of a real sustainable project! Reserva Azul was conceived by Elsa and Luis, a couple who has been part of the Cuichat community in Cuetzalan for the last 35 years. I highly recommend staying in Reserva Azul in the palafitos to really spend a wonderful time inside the cloudy forest. It is a life-time experience! Owners and staff are very friendly and funny!
