Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, or simply Hong Kong, is an autonomous region situated in the southern coast of the Republic of China. It has reached a Global city status and is considered as one of the Alpha+ cities; this is due to Hong Kong being one of the most significant leading international financial centres, ranking third after London and New York City.

Where to go

AsiaWorld-Expo and Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre - These two are Hong Kong's major convention and exhibition venues. Many important exhibitions, conventions, banquets, live musical performances, and more hosted in either of the two venues. Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in particular also hosts some of the largest international trade fairs in Asia.

Victoria Peak - Otherwise known as Mount Austin, and known to locals as The Peak - is situated on the western half of Hong Kong Island. It comprises of residential areas, public parks, and other attractions. The Peak Tram for example is said to be the only way to explore and be awed by scenic views of the natural wonders of Hong Kong. The Sky Terrace 428, being the highest viewing platform in the region, offers a stunning panoramic view of Hong Kong. Aside from being a viewing deck, it can also be booked as a venue for private parties and other gatherings.

Hong Kong Space Museum - One will find a museum dedicated to astronomy and space science located in the urban area Tsim Sha Tsui. This egg-shaped museum features a planetarium, the Hall of Space Science, Hall of Astronomy, workshops, and the Stanley Ho Space Theatre. It also showcases Omnimax Shows for edutainment, with titles such Mysteries of the Unseen World, and Hidden Universe 3D.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort - Release your inner child or bring take actual children to Hong Kong Disneyland, a magical theme park that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The park is divided into several areas, with each 'land' taking on a particular theme, such as an early 20th-century Midwest town, a futuristic land, and a jungle filled with adventures.

Short Haul 

Barely two hours away from Hong Kong is Manila where one can be immersed in an almost completely different culture. Here you can explore monuments and landmarks that date back to the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. A little further off is Japan, a country that bursts with attractions that range from traditional -such as the Osaka Castle and shrines; to modern-such as Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Skytree. Even the streets are teeming with exceptional and quite frankly eccentric fashion, that everywhere you look is a sight to behold!

Long Haul 

From Hong Kong, it would take a little over 16 hours to get to fellow Alpha+ city, New York City, to witness the iconic Statue of Liberty and to get to the top of the world-famous Empire State Building. Likewise, Florida with all its amusement parks and water parks would take almost a day on air!

How to get out

In order to get to Hong Kong, travellers must go through Hong Kong International Airport, which contains one of the largest passenger terminal buildings in the world. The airport links Hong Kong to many destinations worldwide, thanks to the long list of airlines that serve it including Air China, Air India, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern Airlines, Delta Airlines, Dragonair, Hong Kong Express Airways, Kenya Airways, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, and so much more.
