The airport has one runway, measuring 8858 x 148 feet and 2700 x 45 metres long. The airport serves Al Ghaydah, the capital city of Al Mahrah Governorate in south-eastern Yemen.
There’s not much information about the city, except that it is part of the Al Mahrah or Mahra Governorate located in the southern Arabian Peninsula. It is located in the area of the former Mahra Sultanate. Residents of the governorate speak Arabic and Mehri, a modern South Arabian language. Al Mahrah’s geography is same as Dhofar, Oman. A notable place in Al Mahrah is Hauf National Park.

How to get around
Navigating around Sana’a can be done by taking a cab or hire a car. You can also get in a “Dabaab” or minivan, which go on various routes in the city. Although cars are plenty in the city, most use 4x4s or pickup trucks. If you’re up for an adventure, you can get on a motorcycle taxi as well. They’re also more useful when getting around narrow streets that are inaccessible to bigger and wider vehicles.
