Cheap flights from Mexico

Sandwiched between Guatemala and the mighty United States of America, Mexico is a unique mix of the North and South Americas - though located on the North American continent, the country’s official language is Spanish (it is the most populous Spanish-speaking country on Earth) and it is considered a part of Latin America.

With an area of close to 2 million square kilometres, Mexico is one of the largest countries in the Americas and boasts incredibly diverse natural terrain within its boundaries. Besides natural attractions, Mexico is also home to a stunning array of ancient architecture left behind by historic peoples like the Incas, Mayas, Aztecs and others - don’t leave the country without visiting some of its amazing ruins, mysterious Mayan pyramids, temples and more.

For a bit of the best of Mexico, visit the country’s famous Tulúm - there, you can have a taste of the beauty of the Mexican coastline whilst simultaneously enjoying the country’s history, as an ancient Mayan walled city is located right next to the beach. As if the scenery was not spectacular enough, the ruins of the Mayan city are situated on top of a 12-meter tall sea cliff. Built around 1200 AD, Tulúm was once a trading port for the Mayan city of Coba on the Yucatan peninsula, and in its heyday boasted a magnificent castle, temples and massive walls. Today, these structures are still relatively well-preserved.

If you tire of beautiful beaches and amazing ruins, Cuba - another incredible Latin American country - is just a short hop from Mexico. Situated on the largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba is known for its rich cultural and historical heritage, visible in both its landscape and people. Don’t be surprised to see Cubans bursting into song and dance on the streets, and take the time to watch them perform the mesmerising, centuries-old rhythmic Afro-Cuban Rumba to the hypnotic beats of the bongo drums and congas. Then visit the country’s amazing Parque Nacional de Alejandro Humboldt (AHNP), one of the most biodiverse tropical regions in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Feeling up to some extreme outdoor sports? How about a flight to Spain’s Fuerteventura, located in the Canary Islands, for a rolling good time in the sun? This island was once chosen by the Quality Coast International Certification Program of the European Coastal and Marine Union as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe. On top of that, it was also declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2006 and boasts a huge number of amazing geologic features like gorgeous beaches, towering sand dunes, ancient volcanoes and more. For thrill-seekers, this island would be paradise for you. On Fuerteventura there is something for almost anybody who loves any type of sport - water-lovers can choose to go deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, snorkelling and more. Looking for even more of an adrenaline rush? Then try your hand at windsurfing or kitesurfing - the island’s strong Atlantic winds (that inspired its name) and lovely warm waters make for the perfect environment, so perfect that it even hosts the PWA Windsurfing and PKRA Kiteboarding World Cup regularly.
