Found in the heart of the country's biggest city, Zurich, the airport is the largest international airport of Switzerland serving almost the whole of the Swiss population, along with many other European countries in the region. It is the principal hub of Swiss International Airlines (flag carrier of Switzerland) and is operated and owned by Flughafen Zürich AG.

The airport, like many of its counterparts in Europe, is a haven for travellers as its facilities are complete and the operations and service teams of the airport are very accommodating. It has three main air-side piers or terminals namely A, B, and E, and a building called Airside Centre that directly links the first two terminals in the form of a finger pier. The airport is also complete with an Airport Centre comprised of several buildings including airline check-in areas, a shopping mall, a railway station, car parks, and a bus and tram terminal.

Grossmünster Church – The city of Zurich is rich with 16th century churches and worship halls, and is home to the most elaborate churches of the Catholic faith. The Grossmünster Church is one of the church landmarks in Zurich. Legend has it that Charlemagne, or Charles the Great, discovered the graves of saints Felix and Regula on the site where the church now stands, it prompted him to build the church and an attached monastery right there and then. After a few years, the monastery built on the site was annexed with a theological college now known to be the University of Zürich. Visit the church on the weekdays and weekends, and Sundays after the mass service and learn a bit of the past of the city.

Freitag Tower – The Freitag or Friday Tower is a unique shopping destination in the trendy Zurich-West area. With seventeen freight containers piled on top of one another to form an 85-feet high rise establishment in the district, the unusual and incomparable shop is home to 1,600 uniquely designed bags made from used truck tarpaulins, bicycle inner tubes, seat belts, and airbags. With every piece a unique design twist, travellers may find their best match. From the top of the recycled skyscraper, one can check out Zurich-west's past: a skyline of the industrial district now a trendy and posh area for shoppers.
