King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is the main airport of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the busiest airport of the kingdom. Situated in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah Road, the airport has four terminals, each serving a different purpose. The first one is the Hajj Terminal. It is an outdoor terminal designed to accommodate over two million Muslim pilgrims who come to Jeddah during the Hajj season.

The two other terminals, the South and North Terminal, are used for Saudi-based airlines and international flights respectively. Meanwhile, the fourth terminal called The Royal Terminal is reserved for the royal family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other VIP passengers such as foreign kings and presidents.

In addition to the four passenger terminals, King Abdulaziz International Airport features numerous facilities. These include a big mosque, duty-free shops, restaurants, airport lounges, as well as ATMs and currency exchange counters.

The airport is approximately 25 kilometres away from the city centre. It takes 25-35 minutes by car or taxi to get to the city. This traditional cuisine consists of rice and chicken which are cooked with a number of spices including saffron, nutmeg, cinnamon, bay leaves, and black lime. The city’s street food is equally delicious as well. Try the folded pancake mutabbaq, the vegetarian falafel, and the shortbreads with dates ma'amoul.

The currency used in Jeddah is Saudi Riyal (SAR). As of 1 May 2019, SAR1 = RM1.10. On average, the daily budget for travelling to Jeddah is around SAR80-100 (RM88-110). The average cost for food ranges between SAR17 and SAR25 (RM18-28), depending on the restaurant type.
