Air Bagan Flights

Air Bagan, or officially known as Air Bagan Limited, is a regional airline based in Myanmar. The airline is headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar and has its official hubs or operating bases at the Yangon International Airport and the Mandalay Chanmyathazi Airport.

Founded in June 2004, Air Bagan began operations a few months later in November 2004. The airline started as a scheduled airline servicing mostly domestic cities in Myanmar but has since expanded to international destinations in 2007. In May 2007, Air Bagan commenced its international services with a flight from Yangon to Bangkok and a few months later in September, flew from Yangon to Singapore. The airline now has a fleet size of 4 aircraft operating flights to 20 destinations including an international flight from Yangon to Chiang Mai.

Air Bagan currently does not operate any flights from Malaysia. However, some of the more popular domestic routes it operates on are flights from Yangon to Mandalay and from Yangon to Heho. Air Bagan is a partner airline of Bangkok Airways, Myanmar Airways International, Vietnam Airlines, Hahn Air, Asian Wings Airways and Heli Air Monaco.

Ways to Check-in

Air Bagan requests all passengers to arrive at the airport at least one hour before the scheduled departure time for domestic flights and two hours before the departure for flights to Chiang Mai.

Air Bagan reserves the right to cancel reservations of passengers that do not check-in by the requested time.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Air Bagan offers complimentary baggage allowance for all passengers on all their flights. Each passenger, adult or child, is allowed to check-in up to 20 kilogrammes or 44 pounds. Infants are not provided free baggage allowance.


Air Bagan currently only offers one travel class on all their scheduled flights – Economy Class. The airline's current fleet consists of one ATR 42-320 aircraft and three ATR 72-500 aircraft. Both aircraft are configured for a full economy class seating. The ATR 42-320 aircraft can accommodate 48 passengers while the ATR 72-500 can accommodate up to 70 passengers. Each seat has a seat pitch of 30 inches and a seat width of 19 to 20 inches.

In-flight Services

Air Bagan offers passengers complimentary onboard dining. Depending on how long the flight time of the journey, passengers are offered snacks such as tasty croissants and cakes along with hot or cold beverages. Full meals may also be served on longer flights.

Air Bagan currently does not offer any audio and video in-flight entertainment on their flights. However, the airline does provide a complimentary in-flight magazine full of great travel content and ideas. Newspapers and entertainment kits for children are also available.
