Why fly with Thai Air Asia

Check-in

Thai AirAsia provides passengers with several ways to check-in for flights. The airline highly recommends that travellers make use of the web and mobile check-in services to avoid the crowds and possible delays at the airport. However, it should be noted that passengers flying from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) are required to self-check-in. Online check-in, through the website or mobile app, opens 14 days up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time for both domestic and international flights. For passengers unable to check-in online, they can just proceed to the airport for the check-in procedures. Check-in kiosks are also available for faster processing. These kiosks are available at selected airports in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, India and Thailand.

Seating

Thai AirAsia automatically allocates seats to passengers at check-in. However, for those who wish to select their seats, the airline offers their Pick A Seat service which allows passengers to choose an aisle, window seat or even just to ensure that all travellers in the group are seated together. This service is provided for an additional fee upon seat selection. Other seat options offered by the airline include the Quiet Zone and Emergency Row Seats. With the Quiet Zone, you can select a seat in a designated section of the cabin where passengers are ensured minimal disturbance during the flight. For Emergency Row Seats, these will provide additional leg room for passengers. However, these require some safety criteria to be met to avail of this seat type.

Baggage Allowances

Thai AirAsia, as a low-cost airline, does not provide complimentary baggage allowance. However, this can be pre-purchased at booking or before the scheduled departure of flight. It is recommended to pre-purchase baggage allowance before arriving at the airport to avail discounted rates. Checked baggage allowance for domestic flights can be purchased from 15 kilogrammes to 40 kilogrammes in increments of 5 kilogrammes. For international flights, baggage allowance purchase starts at 20 kilogrammes up to 40 kilogrammes, also in increments of 5 kilogrammes. For hand carried or cabin baggage, passengers are allowed to carry one piece of cabin luggage not exceeding the dimension size of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm including handles, wheels and side pockets plus an additional small bag not exceeding 40cm x 30cm x 10cm. The total weight of both items should not exceed the total allowable weight of 7 kilogrammes.

In-flight services

Thai AirAsia does not offer complimentary dining service onboard their flights. However, hot meals, snacks and beverages can be pre-purchased before the flight. During the flight, only light snacks and drinks are available. Thai AirAsia offers a range of Asian and International cuisine to please any palate. Vegetarian option is also available.
