Oman Air Flights

Oman Air, the national airline of Oman, was founded in 1993 with an inaugural flight from Muscat to Salalah in March using a Boeing 737-300. A few months later, Oman Air operated its first international flight to Dubai. The airline has since grown to a fleet size of 50 aircraft operating flights across 20 countries in 3 continents.

Oman Air is headquartered at the Muscat International Airport which is also the airline’s primary hub along with Salalah International Airport. The airline currently has a network of 35 destinations with India having the most services of 8 destinations operated by Oman Air. The airline also has codeshare agreements with several airlines including Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, KLM, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways.

Oman Air currently offers flights to and from destinations in Africa, Asia and Europe. For flights in Malaysia, Oman Air operates out of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Some of the popular flights from Malaysia include flights to Amsterdam in Netherlands, Paris in France and Istanbul in Turkey.

Ways to Check-in

Oman Air offers their passengers two quick and easy ways to check-in for flights. Passengers can opt to avail of the airline’s online check-in facility or their early check-in option at the Muscat International Airport. Airport check-in is also available, but it is recommended that passengers arrive at least 3 hours before to allow time for check-in, security and immigration procedures.

Early check-in is available 8 hours before your scheduled departure time. It is best that all passengers be present as boarding passes will only be issued once the entire group is identified and checked by the on-ground staff at the airport.

Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 90 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure time. Passengers with baggage can drop their luggage at a dedicated web check-in counters at the airport which will close 60 minutes before departure. For passengers with no checked baggage, they can proceed through security and immigration checks.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Oman Air offers complimentary baggage allowance for all passengers. However, this may vary depending on the booked travel class and flight route. Passengers on Economy can check-in one piece of luggage up to 30 kilogrammes in weight. Business and First Class passengers can check-in one piece of luggage not exceeding 30 kilogrammes and an additional piece of luggage not exceeding 20 kilogrammes. Frequent flyer programme members may be allowed additional baggage allowance.

Each luggage should also not exceed the total linear dimension of 158 centimetres or 62 inches including handles, outside pockets and wheels. Each piece of luggage should also not exceed 32 kilogrammes. Bags more than this will be subject to additional fees. Seating

Oman Air offers three types of travel classes. Availability of travel classes will vary depending on the aircraft and flight route.

Economy Class passengers will enjoy the comfort of economy seats that have a seat pitch of 34 inches and structured with padded dress covers, high seatback pivot and energy absorbing leg system. Each seat also comes equipped with personal LCD screens, IFE headsets, multi-plug and power ports for personal device charging.

Business Class passengers have the added comfort of wider and better pitch seats that extend to fully flat beds almost 78 inches long. Each business class seat also comes with additional storage space and comes equipped with 17-inch monitors and power ports.

First Class passengers have the added luxury of even wider seats at 25.5 inches that also fully extend out to 82-inch long beds. The seats are electronically controlled and come with ample storage space. Each seat is equipped with an eight-point massage system, wireless IFE headset, 23-inch monitors and power ports.

In-flight Services

Oman Air complies with Islamic dietary laws serving Halal Meals to all passengers on all their flights. Special meals are available upon request, and alcoholic beverages are only available on international flights for non-Muslim passengers, excluding flights to Saudi Arabia and Iran.

In-flight entertainment is available on Oman Air. The airline boasts of a state-of-the-art system providing on-demand entertainment ranging from the latest movies, popular TV programs and music. WiFi is also available on selected flights and aircraft.
